Purchased!

In anticipation of the new Weekly Organization Challenge over at A Bowl Full of Lemons, I've purchased my Home Management Binder (Challenge #1), some tabbed dividers some MORE tubs for the playroom, a new pair of scissors because I haven't been able to find them all weekend.  Yes, I found them at home 10 minutes after I returned, but who can't use another pair of scissors???

Not essential to the challenge, but essential to my sanity, is some Bath and Body Works Fiji Passionfruit.  I'm in full Seasonal Affective Disorder mode over here and I think at least SMELLING like warmer weather might just set me to rights.  Plus, it coordinated nicely with my green goodies, no?

Scour Off Rules, or The Tale of the Charred Artichoke Pot

Meet Sarah:  mother of four, hard-working professional, gifted singer...oh, and did I mention she's a triathelete?  Recently Sarah purchased some Scour-Off from my Shaklee site.

A few days later, I received these posts on my Facebook wall:

This is my poor, burned pot - burned while steaming artichokes (long story). I have tried everything to make it halfway decent again. Today, I thought . . . What about my new Shaklee Scour Off??

This is my now decent pot- after a little live from Scour Off. Not perfect, but so much better than anything else I tried!! So happy! And this stuff smells so good! Like Mr. Bubbles bubble bath . . . Seriously.

Doesn't her pot look spiff-tacular

Like that word?

Just made it up.

While I already knew how wonderfully this product works and how a little really goes a LONG way, I love seeing these before and afters.  Sarah admitted that her pot hadn't returned to "perfect," but honestly--I'd forgo perfect for SAFE and GREEN any day of the week!  My family's health far outweighs the value of a perfectly shiny pot.  I think Sarah would agree with me.

And she's so right about the smell.  It's yummy.  To me, it smells like bubble gum. In fact, I have to resist the urge to taste it.  That's never happened with good ol' fashioned fumey scouring powder.

Shaklee SPECIAL! Perfect for Cold/Flu Season

Staying healthy and cold-free during the winter has become a priority around here.  Our family is at even greater risk of catching bugs:  we have TWO Kindergarteners who venture daily into a petri dish classroom full of germs, I am a full-time teacher who ventures daily into a petri dish classroom full of germs, and my husband is a network specialist who touches keyboards and the like all. day.long.  And while our girls get lots of quality sleep, the adults in the house...well...not so much.  So even with vitamins and (ahem) semi-good fruit/veggie habits, we need a little more oomph!

Which is why I'm taking advantage of this great offer:

Now WEEKLY, I can handle!

It's no secret that I sort of pooped out on the 21 day challenge at A Bowl Full of Lemons.  A daily project was tough with the full-time job and the kids, and the job, and the cold, and the job...  I must not have been the only one, because wonderful Toni is now holding a WEEKLY challenge.  I like to think she did it just for me.  I'd be wrong, but I'd like to think that.  I'm IN!

I already did th....oh.

21 Day Challenge--Day...uh...
Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet Day!
Upon spying this challenge last night, I thought, "Oh I have GOT this!  It's in the BAG! I did this already!"
Just look at this...

I have got this allll figured ouuuuu......

OH.

Medicine Cabinet: Part Deux

I had already "container-ized" many items, so that was a start.  But I did need to toss some expired items and clean out my bins.

A little spritz and wipe, and good as new.

So if you're anything like me, you're curious about what people have in their medicine cabinets.  Here's a sampling of my cast of characters:

Aller-Tec.  I live in the Central Valley of California.  These are, unfortunately, a staple.

The girls' fiber gummies.  To keep them going well...you know.

The girls' Pedia-Lax.  For when their fiber doesn't make them ....you know.

Oh, well, hellllooooooo lover.  I need this.  Not every night. But I need this.

Did I mention we have five year-old twins???

I couldn't stand the random boxes floating around, so I made a container for the meds that I can easily identify and know the dosage for.  This might not be the smartest idea for everyone, but it works for me.

The grown-up medicine box.

The kids' medicine box.

And a happier cabinet.

Who's on First? Oh...Under My Bathroom Sink.

Wow.  I have to apologize.  I've been out of the loop on the challenge.  Life got busy and the ick wasn't finished with us!  Now that we're on the mend, let the organization resume!

This is the cupboard under the sink in the girls' bathroom.  That's right.  I'm not above laying the blame on two sweet, innocent (snicker) 5 year-olds.  Honestly, this is alllllll mama's fault:

Really...it's a system.  If you wanted expired Cherry Mentholatum, I'd be able to grab it *likethat!*

This is a re-bandaging kit I put together when Sweet Rachel had a pinky mishap nearly five years ago!  Don't worry...it grew back!

A really old package of Boogie Wipes.  Tossed!

The "leftovers."  Oy.

The girls' barrette and spare hair-tie supply was a bit messy.
They hardly ever use barrettes anymore, but we keep them handy.
Their main supply is on their dresser in a jar...it works for us.

Our adorable bows made (mostly made by Sabrina), are clipped onto their very own adorable frame...also made by Sabrina!

Okay, back on track...

I picked this up at the dollar store the other day, hoping it would do the trick for my makeup drawer.  It didn't, but it fit the bill here!

Perfection!

SO much better.  I'm hanging on to the Balmex because it's an awesome sealant for chapped skin.

THE AFTER:

I also put down new shelf paper.  New shelf paper that we ALL seem to have. :)  Great minds, and all...
