Finally getting better...

**card made with Ashley Olson's Joy to the World digital kit

We've been SICK, SICK, SICK all week. The girls have been battling a nasty stomach bug off and on all week long, and today was the first day that they really seemed to be themselves again. This was an awful bug that hit the whole family. Adrian and I were both out for two days (thank goodness Grammy was better by then, and could take the girls to the Dr.). Now my dad's sick. =( We missed out on going to Clovis to gather with family, but weren't sure how the girls would handle it--we were still oogy last night. I'm relieved that the girls are feeling peppy again for Christmas, and hope that my dad will soon be the same. He' s got to be well so that he can put up his Festivus pole! We wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Here's what our card looked like this year. I apologize if we missed you this year--I tried!

Do you dare?

I'm still trying to do some digital scrapping here and there, and have been persuaded to join in on the DigiDares. So this is my entry for this week's dare. I'm excited, because I learned a new skill! I now know how to make letters from pictures, patterned paper, etc. Yay! This took me a bit of time, and my poor eyes are so tired! Night Night!

Dude....100 posts??

I've just noticed that this is my 100th post, according to Blogger. That doesn't seem right. Anyway, here are some pictures of the girls showing some love to PaPa's front yard spectacular. It's very exciting to see them so much more aware of the Christmas goodies around them this year.

Good Luck With That

The Rumor Mill says that Oakland is looking at Bonds as a potential replacement for their outgoing DH, Frank Thomas. It's no secret that Bonds has fallen out of favor with most Giants fans, including this one. He cheated. He lied. And isn't it interesting that, now that he's up for free-agency, he got his surgery right after season's end? Why, he usually saves that kind of stuff for Spring Training! So yeah......good luck with that. The sign was, of course, a play on words--back when Barry was our power. Irony. It's no longer Pac Bell Park, and my legs don't look as good in shorts anymore.

At long last....pigtails!

In the world of Girldom, this is huge. HUGE. We can now join the ranks of our be-ponytailed pals with pride. Oh, the pressure! (Be-ponytailed--new word).

10 Things on Your To-Do List

Amy has tagged me--here goes:

1. Read the chapter in my Katie Wood Ray book, so that I can have my book talk with Rhonda. I am loving doing Writer's Workshop now that I'm reading her!
2. Make some Halloween pages.
3. Get some Thanksgiving placecards going for Mom.
4. Start Christmas shopping (got some things already--this is very good for ME)
5. Gather all of my permission slips for the walking field trip to the firehouse.
6. Get some Astrobright paper for our 'Thankful' wreaths in the classroom.
7. Get to Wednesday staff meeting ON TIME!
8. I also need to clean my carpets. It's an ongoing thing with toddlers.
9. Get walking again. I've been so bad!
10. Read my book group book--The Thirteenth Tale

Okay, I'm tagging anyone who wants to chime in--either by comment or blog.

Veteran's Day

Take some time today to honor those who have served our country. My dear dad, Uncle Walt, Uncle Ken, Uncle Bill, Uncle John, and Uncle Roger are all war veterans who stood up to fight for our freedoms. Thank them all today. They did it for us.

Happy Birthday "PaPa!"

I have an awesome dad. No, seriously, I have an AWESOME dad. He's that dad that always seems to be there, looking after you AND your friends, AND their friends. My friends all gush about my dad. And they're so right. Now take how much he looks after us and multiply it by 100. That's how much he dotes on these babies. Every time we roll up in our stroller or van, they start saying "PaPaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah." They even recognize his unmarked police car. They love him. Happy Birthday Dad/Price/Coach Price/Louie/Uncle Louie/Lou-San/PaPa!

More Monkey Madness

Here are some more pics from Papa's camera. We scored our first KitKat's from Aunt Vera and Uncle Walt.

"I Don't Speak Monkeeey...."

We were monkeys for Halloween Number Two. Last year, we were just tired little infants bundled into costumes. This time, we were a bit more game for some low-grade trick-or-treating. We hit up Aunt Vera and Uncle Walt, Aunt Judy, some neighbors, and Aarin and Donavan. At their house, we bumped into Kara Mae--the sassy black cat. She shared some of her Dots with us. How nice! I seem to have more pictures of Rachel. She was happy to stop and pose. Charlotte was on the move.

Ain't No Party Like a Purple Party...

...today was Becca's big 2nd birthday party, so we loaded up the van and headed up to Sacramento. Purple is Becca's new favorite thing, so it was a Purple Party! The girls love hanging out with "Kecca," and look forward to doing it again soon!

"Ta-ohr?"

This is an approximation of how we pronounce chair. We're venturing into that stage of toddlerhood when tons of 'words' begin to fly out. Sometimes you know what they are....sometimes you just plaster on a smile, nod emphatically, and say, "Yes! That's right!" Anyway, we've begun a new love affair with the glider in our bedroom, which has resulted in both the removal of our table lamp and the tearing-off of the stool cushion. Good times.

Pumpkin Patch: Part Deux

With Charlotte sick last Sunday, we rushed through the Pumpkin Patch to get her home. So we headed back out today so that the girls could enjoy the patch at their leisure. Warm day!

"Shoooooooooow!"

That's how we ask for a Baby Einstein or Baby Talk DVD. They love them. They've yet to gravitate toward Elmo, Sesame Street, or Little Einsteins, but we're in no hurry. It was a particularly lazy weekend day for Charlotte, so she pulled a pillow down and plopped. Kinda blurry, though.

The Rumors Were True!

My good friend Laura breezed through this weekend, and the girls got to have breakfast with her on Sunday (pre-Pumpkin Patch, and pre-sickness). My OTHER good friend Fran hosted, and I always feel so zen in her home. It's like a retreat. Laura left our sprawling Metropolis a few years back for Connecticut, and has now settled in Park City, Utah. I keep telling her to save me some room on the couch for The Sundance Film Festival. I miss her so!

The Pumpkin Patch

The inevitable visit to the Pumpkin Patch. Gorgeous day. Meeting with BFF Kara. Lots of flowers and pumpkins to behold. One happy baby. ....one sick baby. Poor Charlotte started running a fever when we got there and spent most of the time laying on her Grammy's shoulder. We made it a quick visit and tried to see if she wanted to sit with the pumpkins. That little face tells you the answer. She's all better now.
